Public Transit sure is great when it actually goes where you want. I struggle to get myself to transit as much as I might like, when it takes 2-3x longer to transit than to drive. But today, driving from my home in Burien to the university district for an appt, would've taken 50 minutes, vs

The world wide web is just under a year older than me. I was just trying to coach someone a couple decades older than me on how to do some stuff on a site we use. I was trying to phrase a request for her to go over a draft I wrote about how to do another task on the site,

I hung up a spice rack in the bathroom for our overflowing nail polish collection. I didn't have pretty fasteners on hand to hang it, so I made screw covers with air dry clay.

Photo of the top of a rack, which has 2 screw eyes for hanging coming out of the top end. The eyes are hooked on to screws, which you can't really see, because there's a white bunny head with black eyes covering each one. The bunny head screw covers are made of air dry clay.Closer photo of just one of the rack's screw eyes, hanging on a screw that's in the wall. My hand has removed the bunny screw cover and is showing the screw head indentation in the back of the cover.

Wah. I hate being sick. It's not too bad rn. Sore throat, + last night temp of 99.3. This morning, back down to my more usual 97.1, but now it's climbing back up 😭

Haha, excellent blessing paraphrased from my therapist's parting words today, "I hope you get what you want of it, and no one is weird about it"

Today I saw motorcycle cop escort for a bus that said Iran, I assume is the Iran national soccer team... How do the buses be places? The teams surely aren't riding buses between all these far flung stadiums, yeah? Do we know all the cities each team will play in? #FIFA #Seattle

As someone who "needs to" drive a big van for my work, I too am frustrated that such vehicles seem to be designed to get people to do manslaughter. I took the plastic trim off my driver's side A-column after I missed 2 ped'rians trying to cross in front of me due to it adding inches of blockage

The rise of larger vehicles like SUVs and pickup trucks, with their taller hoods and larger blind zones, has contributed to a 75% increase in pedestrian and cyclist deaths since 2009. Until we design better streets and ban these vehicles, people outside these vehicles will keep dying.

I've never particularly paid attention to the world cup. It's weird that it's in 16 cities though, right? I see that this is the 1st time it's been in 3 countries. How many stadiums are usually involved? All this travel seems expensive. And don't host cities usually do a ton of improvement$?

Saturday, on Pride Eve Eve, I got my first ever hostile transphobe bathroom experience. I'm nonbinary, and the venue had M/W rooms, so when I was told,"Um, I think you're in the wrong restroom, SIR! 😡" as I nearly collided with woman and her child as I left the women's, I was like, "yeah, well... 🤷🏻"

It bothers me when a book cover is just... wrong. I mean, maybe there's going to be another significant sapphire that's pear cut... But the 2 sapphires that have been plot relevant for the past 2 books are specified to be "emerald cut" and I'm pretty sure also "rectangular", so whyyyyy?

Screenshot of the audiobook cover for "The Fate of the Tearling" by Erika Johansen. The cover features a teardrop-shaped blue stone with an image of a castle of some such building within it.

just finished All The Hidden Paths book by @fozmeadows.bsky.social The general and Aserian's scenes were ridiculously hot (the voices the audio narrators gave them were very helpful XD) I was kinda surprised by this sequel existing, makes one wonder if 3rd book might come about?

I got a fire escape ladder today, and tried it out. I'm glad I tried it out, because the window I originally had accessible wasn't good because the latter would have over hung the garage door which means that it didn't have flat wall to run along...

Just woke up from a dream (nightmare?) where I was on Indeed and it was bugging me to add photos of the front of my house, but it was the address of a job I'd been looking at and zooming in made it so I had driven there. It was chilly, I was wearing a kangha like a shuka, spoke in Swahili to a mama>
