JD Vance dressing as Dumbledore for Halloween is crazy on so many levels, like: behold! here is a fascist milquetoast homophobe dressed as a TERFβs idea of a (never on the page but word of god confirmed to be) gay man, all while the US Dept. of Education is posting right-wing Malfoid art memes

heβs an OG Trump hater, apparently this interview is fucking fantastic
![KABAS: Did you ever vote for Trump?
HOYLE: No, I have hated Donald Trump since 1989, as a young man, sophomore in college. What he did with the Central Park Five [now called the Exonerated Five.] I already knew I didn't like him because of watching him on David Letterman, who I was a huge fan of growing up. I already knew I didn't like him, but when the Central Park Five stuff happened, I decided then, βyou're dead to me,β and hopefully to everybody else.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:6hit5rjdbmlnscmuk4bbtmuc/bafkreicooknohdjzqg3agtdd6du46dtr2ddcbgmfp7bggm5xajfxbnw7fe)
he got into the event by bullshitting the door guy about heavy metal this guy rules so hard
![And then the gentleman [at the front door] who tried to weed me out on the way in the door by asking me some questionsβI talked him out of keeping me out of the event just by talking in circles about heavy metal and about my shirtβwell, that guy was walking in as I was walking out after I was ejected, and I said, βHey man, you didn't vet me too well,β and I kept walking. So they may not have him do their security in the future.
KABAS: What was he asking you?
HOYLE: He said, well, are you a Trump supporter? I said, I'm a supporter of the Constitution. I love this country. Where are you going with this line of questioning? Who are you? He didn't have a uniform. He was a private security guy, just a meathead. He goes, well, my job was to vet people with these things. I said, what about Death [the band]? What do you know about death metal? And that's when I just talked him in circles, and he said, oh, I don't really know about that group. And I gave him my schpiel on the roots of Florida death metal. I told him that Chuck Schuldiner, God rest his soul, was a god in the heavy metal world.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:6hit5rjdbmlnscmuk4bbtmuc/bafkreic3ive3z6yzvmi3rn6xf2p3p3hnzns7x5jopo23ca52wfy6uxta6m)
Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social Β· 3d agoNEW β I spoke to Tom, the guy at the South Carolina Trump rally who compared the president's supporters to the Jonestown Massacre. We talked about his loathing for Trump, his love of death metal, and where he learned his impeccable comedic timing. Read our full chat here:

Democrats really need to stop having it both ways between saying that democracy itself is on the line, but also, nobody who brought us to this point ever needs to be held accountable or prevented from doing it again. It's simply insulting that they expect us to go along with that nonsense.

the biggest presidential scandal in history but the political media largely acts as if it's not happening. hasan piker has received more mainstream political media coverage over the last 6 months than trump's connections with epstein has
Prem Thakker γ@premthakker.bsky.social Β· 6d agoNEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epsteinβs sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.
Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...
'It's offensively cheap': How solar power is quietly becoming bigger than nuclear
After defying projections, solar's dramatic growth means it is overtaking nuclear as a global power source. Here are seven reasons for solar's success, and where it might go from here.
