Got a wireless game controller on Amazon today. It’s gonna help me out with coding controller support for Tails of Empyria! I’m sure I’ll use it for other things too. #gamedev #indiedev #tailsofempyria #coding #controllersupport #videogames
My free and open source SVG editor, GodSVG, can now also convert multiple paths segments at once. #OpenSource #GodotEngine
One thing I want to work on either later this week or the next: Learn about pixel art fonts so I can make my own for Tails of Empyria!
"AI cannot take responsibility, and we can't trust heavy users of AI to understand their code enough to fix it." @godotengine.org gets it. 👍
Open source game engine Godot will no longer accept AI-authored code contributions: 'We can't trust heavy users of AI to understand their code enough to fix it'
At risk of drowning in AI slop code, Godot is firming up its contribution requirements.

I’m gonna primarily be working on the code for my game today. Don’t expect any art today. Maybe tomorrow though! #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #rpg #pmd #roguelike #godotdev #coding #programming
I’m working on concept art of another character from my game. It is going really well! Her name is Sura. #wip #sketch #conceptart #characterart #gameart #gamedev #indiedev #tailsofempyria #merfolk #mermaid #furry #furryart #furrygame #merfur
And here is the final dagger! Gonna go back to doing furry and merfolk art for a bit now that it’s done. #pixelart #conceptart #weapon #dagger #gameart #gamedev #solodev #indiedev #rpg #roguelike #TailsofEmpyria
Ok, finished T3, it came out really well! Only T1 left! #pixelart #conceptart #weaponart #weapon #dagger #katar #gameart #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #rpg #roguelike #tailsofempyria
Finished another dagger concept last night. Gonna do T3 next then T1! #pixelart #conceptart #gameart #weaponart #weapon #dagger #rpg #Gamedev #indiedev #solodev #tailsofempyria
Here’s another one! The T stands for Tier. Each weapon type has 5 tiers, with tier 5 being the best and tier 1 being the worst. I want to make each tier have a different aesthetic! #pixelart #conceptart #gameart #weapon #dagger #rpg #tailsofepmyria #gamedev #indiedev #solodev
And here's the finished version of this first one! I might add some animation to these later but not right now. #pixelart #conceptart #gameart #gamedev #solodev #indiedev #rougelike #rpg #weapon #dagger #tailsofempyria
I’m currently taking those dagger concept sketches from and making pixel art of them. The first one is already looking pretty cool! #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #conceptart #weapon #dagger #rpg #roguelike #tailsofempyria
Ok, I’m done doing the weapon concepts for today. I did 5 ones for the dagger weapon type. Here’s my top 4. I’m gonna make pixel art of them tomorrow! #wip #sketch #conceptart #weapon #dagger #gameart #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #tailsofempyria #traditionalart #doodle
This is just the variable It’s like 7 or 8 pages, but the pages are rather small cause it’s not a really large notebook. Have not even begun writing the functions but it’s already looking good! #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #godotdev #coding #programming #TailsofEmpyria
Currently writing the pseudocode for the character class for my game. Basing it off of the system for #pmd. It’s a lot of variables. Haven’t even gotten to the functions yet and I have two whole pages in my notebook filled #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #coding #godotdev #rpg #programming

Here was the original version made in my animation software!
I talked to the developer of the software and we figured out how to easily fix the frame rate issue! This new test to look at transparency with it went really well too! #gamedev #animation #pixelover #software #indiedev #pixelart
The animation test also went well! i will have to do future animation stuff where I import the animation in layer by layer so I can set up the layers in the export to aseprite. and fix a slight issue with the frame rate with certain file formats. #gamedev #animation #tailsofempyria
Did some testing of a post processing software (not AI) to help take the more standard digital animation I’m doing with the cutscenes and convert it to pixel art more quickly. This is a test of it with one of my mermay pieces that I did a little bit of cleaning up in aseprite afterwards! #gamedev
I fixed the frame rate issue, but the fix might be a little bit tedious. I can live with it tho! #animation #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #tailsofempyria

Tails of Empyria’s cutscenes are now being made in Callipeg on my android tablet. I am really liking it! This is a *very* anti adobe project so animate would not do. Glad I found Callipeg! #gamedev #indiedev #animation #digitalanimation #softwrare #Callipeg #2Danimation #tailsofempyria
Good Evening Bluesky! Here at Tails of Empyria, If you are a digital animator, we need your advice. I am looking for an animation software (that Isn’t Adobe) to animate the cutscenes. Ideally free, but if it is paid a one time purchase i have used Krita for animation but I am exploring options.
It’s designed for helping game developers do a similar thing and take more standard digital art assets and help convert them to pixel art assets through shaders and bit crushing and stuff
The software is called Pixelover if anyone is interested
