I used to bike that exact intersection to Caltrain sometimes. I've often driven through it too. When driving, it is too common that I stop at a red light with the car behind me being stopped at least partially on the tracks, not able to clear the intersection safely.

Tonight I used the broad-edged pen for the first time in years and practiced a gothic script, one of several I used to practice. I used to write in Italian rotundas, but tonight I tried a more compressed gothic that would've been typical of northern Europe.

This was an interesting activity, especially with several questions that I would have answered differently in the past in the couple other places I've lived growing up.

Looking north on 9th St, the dome of city hall loomed against the setting sun over nearby buildings. A view up Minna St framed the Salesforce Tower perfectly.

Saw a cute scientific poster of red foxes at the Crafty Fox with @flinttheraccoon.bsky.social. Indeed as the poster says, we foxes are omnivores that eat berries, and that's why I tried a blueberry sour ale, the flavor of my favorite fruit 🦊🫐 The fried fish sandwich was also great of course.
