If a team makes a game that gets great reviews and doesn't sell, that's a biz failing but the silver lining is you caught lighting in a bottle -- protect that team! It's worth its weight in gold. If you jettison the team but keep the biz people, I don't know what to tell you

People don't like the #Avatar Netflix series, so I figured I'd check it out. A lot of the original German voice cast from the original series came back, that was kinda awesome. Then I found out they recasted almost the entire series because #Netflix so desperately want to force AI contracts...

The Internet is literally the reason I have found my profession and the reason I have had years of professional success in my field. If I hadn't found that as a kid by developing fan websites, I am not sure I would be as good as I am today.

Internet was my sole window to the outside world, back when all that I knew was bullying and elitist pressure It gave me an outlet to be creative, to talk with others and find communities While slow, it made me the woman I am today. Children deserve the freedom to discover themselves and be social

This is literally why there's a bipartisan effort to remove internet access from young people. It's an attack on queer people, leftists, and anyone who questions authority. They don't want our children finding out that MLK and Frida Kahlo were socialists or that Stonewall was a riot.

Having social media access made growing up gay 1 million times easier (I don’t think I would even know I was gay as a teen if it weren’t for social media), but it also made growing up progressive and informed possible. Social media was where I learned about abortion rights, for starters

I have been following this for a while and I personally think for a project that just can't get the volume of people to involve like main Godot, it's a good change. The port is really good and it's fun to poke around and improve it (I'm still a junior engine contributor but I'm getting there)

Yeah but if people work for longer than 6 months there is a higher chance they might care for each other and God forbid organize, maybe even start a union movement... No, we'd rather fire and rehire each project so everyone feels alone and separated

This is a lost art. First place I worked had 4 teams working on different games, and a dedicated pitch team just laying track in the form of new projects. Used to be doable at 200 people. Indies being so small and AAA going all in on big projects has largely nuked it. It’s a shame.
