Philando Castile was a legal gun owner, Black, and was shot and killed after being pulled over and disclosing to an officer that he had a firearm in the vehicle. His death was gruesome, inhumane, and unjust. We must confront systemic racism to truly end gun violence.

Today is #ASKDay. Parents should ask if there are unsecured guns where their children play. Young people can ask too—especially when babysitting, dog sitting, house sitting, or moving in with new roommates. One question could save a life. #AskingSavesKids
Today's U.S. v. Hemani decision doesn't change a fundamental fact: the Second Amendment is not absolute. The Court reaffirmed that lawmakers can restrict firearm access for certain categories of people. Those safeguards are essential to the Brady Background Check System and public safety.

While we celebrate Pride Month, we must also take action. The LGBTQ+ community is under sustained attack by this administration, with rollbacks of basic rights and protections, & attempts to erase identity and dignity. This impacts the safety and freedom that every American deserves. Enough. 🏳️🌈
