COYS - Rule the Roost

Really enjoyed chatting to Antonin Kinsky. He spoke about Roberto De Zerbi, why he's glad the Spurs coach didn't make the grand gesture he was going to, what it was like to be told he's Tottenham's number one, his bond with Martin Dubravka and plenty more. www.football.london/tottenham-ho...

I really do feel like England could do with a WC win on an almost spiritual level. Been unrelentingly miserable here for at least a decade now, societally speaking. I'm not naive enough to think it would fix the country's problems, but might at least make people give their heads a bit of a wobble?

In the lead up to the game that I can be least arsed for in the entirety of football, I'm already seeing the same old shit on Eng and Arg Twitter... Funny thing is, the truth that the ugliest elements of both countries won't want to hear is that they're remarkably similar tbh.

Did the same research I did on Fernandes, this time on Sandro Tonali. Checked fan sites, forums and media in English, Italian and Dutch across every club he's played for. Here's what came back: 🧵 1/18

Just think: somewhere in the multiverse, there's a version of yourself who saw Spurs get relegated, Arsenal win the Champs League, and is now seething over Daniel Levy (who is still in charge) haggling over £300k with Millwall for Barry fucking Bannan. Spare a thought for them.

Climate deniers. The reason people mention 1976 so much is because it was an outlier at the time, and continued to be until quite recently. It didn't rain for about 5 months. No thunderstorms, nothing. If a cloud drifted over people would stop and look at it. It wasn't normal. It is now.

The theory that Anton Chigurh isn't actually real... that he's a 'bad guy' old Sheriff Bell has imagined because he can't bring himself to face the horrors that challenge everything he grew up believing, everything he's dedicated his life to, is something that's never left me.

I got bored of the rest is football as a podcast pretty quickly, and at times found the Lineker, Richards and Shearer schtick a bit forced.... but the Netflix World Cup show is great. Very enjoyable imo.

Runner types - what advice would you give to somebody who can 'run' a 5k in about 30 mins and it feels like their upper-limit but have signed up to 'run' a 10k in 3 and a bit months time?
