(Of course, “allow them to transfer the development rights” doesn’t mean much when we rightfully already allow dense developments just about anywhere anyway. 😏) Dense development in the WUI just shouldn’t be allowed! These should be mini-ranches, not subdivisions!

The neighborhood with the highest wildfire risk, incidentally, is Grandview-Thorpe in the Latah Valley (southweast Spokane), where multiple large new subdivisions are planned. These developments should be stopped. Let them transfer or sell the development rights to properties in the urban core.
