i feel like my thoughts on the matter have been pretty clear from the word go, but just in case: the moment i think automating creativity out of existence is a good idea is the day i've been unceremoniously replaced by an evil lena that has bad opinions. (put another way: i'll never use gen ai)
the funny thing about capitalism and marketing is that it rewards learning how to lie just well enough that you fool enough people to turn a profit which makes gen ai's promise of "amplify human creativity, not replace it" feel enticing when it is, actually, "replacing it"

Caine showing everyone their human lives reminds me of the ending to the film Cinema Paradiso; it’s a love letter from Caine showing the humans there’s hope, and that they’re more than their dysfunctions… the ultimate tragedy is that Jax, after his ordeals in the Circus, didn’t see it that way.
Jax’s story is a cautionary tale; he doubles down on his poor coping mechanisms and won’t open up, even as he makes himself and others miserable. I feel the best reaction to him is pity - shaking our heads at him, noting where he went wrong and HOW he became that way so we don’t end up like him.

Looking back I feel blessed because I've been to experience Silksong, to listen to Christopher Larkin. I didn't realize it at first but it was such an experience. It's not even fair to compare it to Hollow Knight because they are both masterpieces with their own unique vibe.
