SCOOP: 404 Media placed a tracking device in a shipment of rare books to see which AI company was buying it. What did we find? It ended up at an Amazon facility where Amazon scans and destroys books. Yes. This is literally the logo outside the Amazon warehouse door. Read now:

We Tracked a Shipment of Rare Books. It Ended at an Amazon AI Training Facility

They gave US zinester Elizabeth Soto *50 fucking years* in prison for publishing a zine that supports an anti-fascism stance. Prosecutors also used her feminism themed zine, and an anti-AI zine as evidence against her. This is unprecedented.

If you have nsfw set to "hide" I implore you to set it to "warn". You still won't see anything except for a blurred post Otherwise once they roll out account-wide adult content labeling a whole lot of people including me are going to disappear from your timelines, even our sfw text posts

I had my little theory that the war on porn games/art/writing was, in part, to try to make AI scraping easier, but now I can add "it was astroturfing to take out the ethical, artisanal, actually artistic competition."

This is cool after the war on everything called “porn” by platforms and payment processors. A machine that stole all your words can generate and sell “erotica” but you can’t haaa

Paypal ramps up NSFW censorship by beginning to go after not just adult creators but also customers. In a lot of ways, this is even more terrifying than the adult creator bans. With them, it's only me at risk, but how do I navigate a space where putting a game on Itch might put customers at risk?

Daydreaming about an adult-friendly web that forces parents to actually Parent their kids so that in an effort to shield them from said content they instead avoid misinformation, nonstop political propaganda and brain-rotting advertisement since they cant let them be raised by computers anymore.

More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy. This seems kinda significant.

We're not in theoretical "they could come after sfw queer content LATER" territory anymore. It is being used to come after sfw queer content NOW. Spread this around, send the article to any and every news outlet/content creator you can think of. The alarms need to be sounded And KEEP CALLING

this is from back in May, but while youre calling your representatives about the SCREEN act and KOSA, its worth including a mention about the 'Interstate Obscenity Definition Act' (IODA). remember, you dont need to go into great detail, you just need to be another tally of citizens saying "no"

This bill would criminalize pornography by legally redefining what it means to be obscene. Period. Full stop. No more porn legally. If you post porn whether free pics or paid vids. this affects you!
