I like bunnies and democracy.

In June 2024 I brought these sweet peas home from the shelter as “permanent fosters” because they were 10.5 and the shelter didn’t think anyone would want to adopt senior buns. They wanted them to have a home to live out their days in. I figured we might have them for a few months, maybe a year.

The prettiest bunny in the world, a brown minirex with huge doe eyes, sitting on a beige fleece blanket she would go on to chew holes inGrey minirex bunny looking directly at the camera as if to say “you got a problem with me?” I did not have a problem with him. He was a perfect bunny.

I don’t know who needs to hear this (yes I do — people who can’t stand mint toothpaste), but this tastes *exactly* like a creamsicle. Best toothpaste I’ve ever tasted and it’s not even close.

Not that this is what’s important, but, like, they didn’t even get the lower grocery prices they thought they were voting for. (BUT HOLY FUCK WAS IT OBVIOUS ALL ALONG THAT THEY WOULDN’T.)

M

I assume “are you trying to get it done this year or next?” isn’t one of the most important questions when scheduling surgery in places that aren’t the US?

M

I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but WHAT??? The subtitle says the Dems were trying harder to get workers paid, but somehow that translates to “Dems block worker pay bill”???

New York Times website showing article entitled “Democrats Block Federal Worker Pay Bill as Shutdown Drags On” and subtitle of “A Republican measure that would pay essential government employees faltered in the Senate, and the GOP blocked a pair of Democratic bills to pay a broader swath of workers.”
M

I need the shutdown to end so I can sign up for the Do Not Call list. And also for a bunch of other reasons, but it’s particularly silly that a WEBSITE has apparently been furloughed.

M

I could easily part with at least 80% of my belongings if I were moving in a month or two, but two things I know I’d keep are my I ❤️ Lunch bag and my whale bottle opener. What’s something you’d for sure keep?

Caught some of Ballet Folklorico’s performance from the backstage tour at the Long Center Community Day. Wish I’d managed my day better to have seen their full performance.

Something I’ve been looking forward to for a couple months that’s finally here is that I’m taking a French pastry class today. We’re going to make my favorite pastry, and I’m wearing my new hat for the occasion.

He’s ruined “thank you for your attention to this matter” forever. It’s the red hat of mundane communications. I don’t know how to end boring emails anymore.

On a lighter note, the neighborhood fox is back. (It’s actually more than one, but unless we’re looking at/referring to more than one at once, each is “the fox.”)
