UPDATE: I've been sharing that Beshear has until August 4 to appoint a dem to McConnell's seat. That's not correct. There is no cutoff date. The August 4th date came from this language in the KY constitution, but it only applies if Mitch's term wouldn't end this year, and only for special elections.

He founded his own ophthalmology certification board, the National Board of Ophthalmology (NBO), with his wife and father-in-law as officers. His “board” isn’t recognized by the major specialty board organization or accepted by most hospitals.

That same amount is how much the United States spent on planetary science from FY2013 through FY2026 inclusive. Thirteen years of planetary science or five months of war.
