Every time I restring my classical I have to re-learn it, and watching youtube videos is a kind of painful way to do it. So I decided to see if I could make a few simple diagrams to remind me. (this is for the bridge side, headstock side next) #classicalguitar
This last 24 hours of Chicago weather has been so “false spring”. 70 and tornadoes one day, snow the next.
That phase of Chicago winter where I’m just constantly making and consuming hot drinks
Finished recording bass tracks for my album. Guitar parts will be much harder to record but it feels good to finish *something*
It is honestly kind of funny that they decided a cloud storage service needed a yearly recap
After 7 years of development, we are excited that "Quartet" is out now! A series of train robberies. A mysterious deck of cards. A fleet of deadly airships. An accidental mage. Choose from four stories, in any order, and discover how they intertwine in this turn-based RPG!

I decided to check out the demos for Toneboosters ( www.toneboosters.com ) plugins after hearing that they have released Linux native versions. Really impressed so far. Thoughts in thread:

Really helpful list of nice audio plugins that release native Linux versions. I’ll be looking at this more closely as I eventually move towards the mixing phase of my album. amadeuspaulussen.com/blog/2022/fa... #linuxaudio

Onto re-recording a solo classical guitar piece with my new condenser mics! My SM57 version just felt noisy and flat, based on my experiences so far with the GA FC4s I think this is going to sound like a totally different track.
A sampling of some tracks on the instrumental album I'm working on. I'm one quarter done and thought I would share a bit.
4/16 tracks "done" (will mix and master the whole album later). 25% done feels like a nice milestone.
Very sad that when I EQ an instrument (at least one with bass frequencies) so that it sounds great on its own, it sounds muddy in the mix. If I EQ it so that it sounds great in the mix, it sounds tinny on its own. Can't all the awesome sounds just get put together to sound more awesome instead?

Judging by the crickets I got when posting my initial question on the relevant forums, and the reaction I got from the customer service rep, I may be the first person to successfully get a Virharmonic product (Instant Cello) working on Linux/Wine. 💪 #linuxaudio

Discovered www.orchestraltools.com/majestic-horn tonight and it's been great. I had been using the E/W Hollywood Brass Solo French Horn and couldn't get the sound I wanted (legato but with some power and clarity) out of it. For less than $3 the Majestic Horn does this pretty well.

Nothing says 'worlds colliding' like continually being frustrated my vim keybindings don't work in MuseScore
some guitar playing for your feed. trying some ponticello playing on a jazzy chord melody
Having access to VSTs that utilize both CC1 and CC11 is really making me second guess my earlier decision to get a small midi controller that can’t control both of those at once
Through extensive testing I now think that 1ft is the proper distance for micing my classical guitar* *as I am using an SM57 2ft away: too quiet, needs too much amplification which adds noise 6in away: too harsh
I learned how to set the midi channel on a MIDI item in #reaper today, please clap. My method of selecting all notes in it and right clicking to change the channel didn't cover CC messages, so finding this option is huge
Been using pro VSTs for less than a week and my hard drive is already 92% full
