Interesting to note the pitcher who got DFA'd is the one that the "greatest pitching coach" was swearing to our beloved Ben&Woods had amazing stuff and he was the most excited about.
Padres need to hit homeruns, Mike

This might be the dumbest thing i've ever listened too. But what do you expect form a right-wing news publication owned by Bezos.

This is why you don't base your trade deadline on the results beating up terrible teams
The Padres played this game like Preller sold at the deadline.
The more I think about these trades the more I'm disappointed. Like the trades themselves are fine, even pretty good if the Padres were one- or two-pieces way from a legitimate WS shot, but they were two pieces away from making just the playoffs.
Last three deadlines showed the Padres goal is no longer a WS, despite what AJ says to the media. It's to host at least two playoff home games. A good GM would recognize the ceiling of this team and retreat to reorganize for next year.
Two rentals for an aging team that realistically has an LDS ceiling is actually kind of depressing.
Kash isn't a world beater, but I don't really like it. Mize has had a very good season, but his FB is around 91mph, and he has mediocre stuff+. Feels like an overpay for a cheap rental
Casey Mize... now to see the panic overpay. We're still in "insanely stupid" territory

Preller has just run out of time to do something insanely stupid, like trading for just Robbie Ray

it's incredibly disgusting and collaborationist to describe political fuckery designed to harm people as a "decline in participation"
SNAP, also known as food stamps, has seen a rapid and consistent participation decline since last July. The drop comes as the program faces historic cuts and changes. n.pr/4w5XSc9
Forgoing multiple years of a young pre-arb starter to keep your unsignable setup man to ensure a NLDS exit. Preller master class!
The San Diego Padres rejected a deal that would have sent Yankees starter Will Warren for valuable left-handed set-up man Adrian Morejon.
You can't full buy and keep Salas. Salas is the only way you're getting a player in return that gives the team any chance
the president's favorite team that loves to throw money at ICE did what now?
Frankly I can't wait for the lockout. The sport is so fucking broken and there's just no reason to watch anymore

Jeanie Pirro just ensured that she is fired by October
Trump: “I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned …There may have been some contractor difficulty, but major damage was caused by VANDALS!”
I really don't think fans should give a shit about player's desires to play in the post season when those player's are the ones who put the team in a position where it's doubtful they make the playoffs, and now have to have this conversation of it they should buy or sell
AJ refusing to admit this was one of his worst trades, so he has to hope another GM is as more stupid than he is (they aren't)
man he's really dumb isn't he
Same fan said we shouldnt forget our history, and because the Padres have been ass and went 25 years between playoff appersnces, they should focus on consistent success before thinking WS or bust. I'd say making the playoffs 4 times in 6 years and 5/6 years having winning records would be just that
Padre fans love clinging to mediocrity. Padres have been in the top10 in payroll for 5 out of the last 6 years and fans will still say "We're not the Yankees. It isn't World Series or Bust"

Jumpin through hoops of fire to end up one step backwards from where they were before the deadline. Sounds exactly what AJ will do
I think his cleverness will be something like offloading King, trading Morejon, and then overpaying for Hunter Greene.
IDK saying "I can't tell you that Ethan Salas will be great in 2-3 years, but I can say that Mason Miller will still be great in 2-3 years" is kind of inaccurate. You really can't say he will given reliver volatility and for him the high likelihood of his elbow exploding
Padres going all out to lose in the Wild Card round.
Dennis mentions Isaac Collins, McCarthy/Moniak, Peralta and Gausman as potential targets
Not shocking but still disappointing yo see Padre fans think the current pitching strategy (bullpen games) is sustainable for the next 2 months, meaning King can be traded
