Looking up at the veteran Ash and Oak at Glandwr Forest, marvelling at their majesty, the mind wanders to the evolution they have seen. They stand at a special cross-section of habitat, between the species-rich grassland and the newly planted trees in the carbon study. Sentinels watching over us.

Looking back on the red warning for extreme heat in 2022. That week, there were samples due to be collected for the Glandwr Forest Carbon Study. As the warnings escalated, daytime work was stopped, volunteering was cancelled, and those on site sought shelter in the barn.

"Your focus determines your reality." — George Lucas Well, we are enjoying the focus on this Aspen leaf. Populus tremula trembles in the slightest breeze, thanks to the flattened stalk near the base of the leaf, which is why it is sometimes called a quaking aspen. #Leafscrolling Photo: Paul Box

Reflecting on a fantastic day in Glandwr Forest and the fabulousness of our volunteer community. 🌳 Saturday was a big! 1,500 stakes firmly secured, and broken ones replaced to ensure all the barcodes are in the right space. Corner posts had a spruce-up too, with 25 old ones swapped for new.
