If people are hoping for Steelers fans to reject their team for a season because they've got an intolerable asshole for QB, they've got a lot to learn about Steelers fans.
EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest
I'm cleaning up my email that I've neglected for the last few years, and boy, the amount of pitches I had turned down, and how much that number rose, sure is sobering to see
Hahahaha ok guys this has been fun, really, but I think I’m ready for everything i love to stop getting worse.
Bad news: The old model of games media is collapsing, and "free" writing funded by Silicon Valley pivots will be a strange blip in the history of journalism. Good news: It's possible to make high-quality, low-cost indie games media by cutting out the ads and charging a very, very modest fee!

Realizing in real time that I’m going to drop 200 hours into this new Fire Emblem game.
The guy narrating this Fire Emblem Direct sounds like his side gig is announcing Soul Calibur fights.

I posted this exact nothing burger thought on Threads at the same time and it has over 1500 likes from my 200 followers account over there. That algo is wild.
Zendaya being part of Dune, Spider-Man, and The Odyssey is a wild run, box office wise.
The more I think about it, the more I think Mina's ending is a bit of a masterstroke. I won't spoil it here, obviously, but I'm surprised at the thoughtfulness of it - in narrative and form - and a little disappointed with myself for being surprised, because the game certainly earned its conclusion.
The industry makes great games, but nobody can find them. Algorithms built to surface content are increasingly rewarding volume, familiarity, and short-term engagement over quality or originality. https://bit.ly/44VFYO9
Mina the Hollower is a really, really, really good video game. Nailed the landing in a way I honestly didn't expect. Finished with no modifiers, only using the daggers.
thank you SO MUCH to everyone who subscribed or just otherwise enjoyed Hater Week, it was one of the biggest weeks in the site's history (in terms of pageviews AND new subscribers) Because of this, we're extending the sale. $75 for a 'Member' sub is an absolute steal.
Our latest sale was such a success we're extending it for another week! Until midnight on August 9 you can get 25% off our 'Member' tier annual sub, OR pay just $1 for your first month! aftermath.site/aftermath-sale...
So, Jeff Arcuri is straight up just Nate Bargatze but for dads who actually change diapers, right?
I really love the way Abram approaches games. Always a thoughtful examination of design that's more interested in what these choices communicate rather than if they are good or bad. I have a lot of similar thoughts about the bloat in Rebirth and how it functions in the inevitability of the end.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's excess is as unmistakable as it is endearing. A moving, messy journey that accumulates feeling through its best and, more importantly, its most tedious episodes. I love this game, and I'd love it if you checked this out! medium.com/@abrambuehne...

I have purchased Saros finally. That's on tap after Mina.
I'll just reiterate how much this feels like Microsoft building a case to sell off Xbox by showing the inevitable lack of enthusiasm for this stuff to shareholders and going "see?!"
