So 80,000 surveillance state ALPRs can be used to track 1 woman because she sought an abortion in a different state, but 80,000 ALPRs haven't been used to find, oh I dunno, Amber Alert missing children? They can also be used to spy on children in gyms too. So that's a thing.

My house has never been on fire. I subsidize the fire department for all the people whose houses have been on fire. I do not regret this in the slightest. I don't want to sit and do nothing while other people's homes burn. And if my house DOES catch fire, I'll be damn glad the fire dept exists.

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.

Name a hated film you are willing to defend: It's cheesy, unrealistic with horrible acting but I love stuff like that and I enjoyed this movie. Bear in mind I grew up with Mystery Science Theater 3000 so I watched all the horrible movies.

Name a hated film you are willing to defend: I think a lot of people would reply to this prompt with a bad/mid movie they saw as a kid. For me, that's the 1998 film adaptation of Lost in Space. I have no idea WHY, but my family had a DVD of it, so I watched it dozens of times late at night.
