I was in NYC yesterday, and was surprised to see less folks asking me for a dollar and more (many more. many many more) folks set up with multiple phone/camera rigs trying to be influencers; holding signs, pandering for content. A dollar I can handle. My time/soul? Nah.
My work is on the Internet Archive. Words I got paid to write are now freely accessible to researches who needs names, dates, etc. That's rad! Cause Ive forgotten a lot of what I've known and the IA helps me with me own research quoting myself! Can't pit a price on that.
