I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds. I support neither imperialism or dictatorship. Sahar Delijani said it best:

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.
Sahar Delijani, Iranian author

"we don't want people thinking Democrats are for open borders" I am! who gives a shit!!! my life has been immeasurably improved by the presence of immigrants in my community, regardless of their status, there is literally no downside there! why would I give a shit!!!!

I know it’s hard to have optimism right now, but if there’s one thing that is genuinely giving me hope it is seeing communities — hell, neighborhoods, even portions of cities — stand up in unison against tyranny in a way that is active, capable, savvy. It’s really powerful.

hi all! i am working on little anti-ICE kits to be handed out for free at the bookstore that include info on how to protest, rights info cards in english and spanish, a zine that includes regional-specific contact info, and whistles. is there anything else y'all would find useful in such a kit?

THIS. Frustration tolerance is the key to getting good at anything at all, not just art. Socials media makes it so easy to compare yourself to others, but you just have to ignore that and have fun with your little drawings. Do it enough and you'll eventually get better through trial and error.

Being unable to tolerate frustration + chasing social media clout gotta be a big reason why ppl jumped on the gen ai machine to churn out slop

Tumblr post from eldritchdilf-deactivated2025061:
"Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck."

I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

This is genuinely massive, like earth-shakingly big in terms of pushing back the anti-trans exclusion drive. The anti-trans movement have lost a case they didn't expect to lose and really couldn't afford to. I can't imagine them not appealing (near infinite money) but now the precedent exists.

BREAKING: Employee who demand a trans-exclusive toilet policy loses employment tribunal. All claims, direct and indirect discrimination, harassment, and 1992 Regs, dismissed. Judgment: www.gov.uk/employment-t...

every once in a while I think about how I turned in my book literally the week before my baby unexpectedly arrived 3 weeks early and how intensely grateful I am to have finished on time but also how close to disaster I was 😅

There is talk going around that DHS is now arresting people who fly *domestically* if they have final orders of removal. Undocumented youth should consider consulting a lawyer to find out what their record is -- especially those whose parents had prior interactions with immigration.

I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood. She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.
