The thing about Platner is that illegal forever wars tend to fuck people up. He served multiple tours and was a private contractor. Combat vets suffer PTSD. It's not an excuse, and doesn't condone, it's just a fact. Excessive drinking, anger, depression, suicide... American as apple pie.
