Policy nerd here. Public figures have this thing called the right of publicity. It varies a bit, state-by-state, but this basically means that a public figure's name and likeness cannot be used for the commercial gain of another without express permission from the public figure.

Marketing professional here. Don’t do this. You’re asking to be sued for misappropriation of someone’s likeness for false promotion. Very clear this staff has no PR or legal team.

Today, I encountered a document on the CMS website that provides guidance to Medicaid LTSS providers, clarifying the differences between institutional and home/community-based settings. The document is called "settings that isolate" and that phrase is still haunting me.

After passing the largest #Medicaid cut in history, the GOP is now trying to pass the most restrictive voter ID law, which would specifically disenfranchise people living in skilled nursing facilities (about 70% of whom rely on Medicaid to fund their care).

Senator Ted Cruz just used an ableist slur on the Senate floor—twice—while arguing for the #SAVEAmericaAct, which will specifically disenfranchise many #disabled voters.
