When I was younger, I thought the talking scenes were pointless and always wanted to get through them to get to the dinosaurs. Now, I know that the lunch scene and the dessert scene (“there’s no such thing as control, that’s the illusion”) are the best/most important scenes.

The brilliance of the first and only the first Jurassic Park is it isn't actually a film about dinosaurs. That is the vehicle that carries you through it- the fun ride that carries the weight of it all on its shoulders. Its actually about three things, and yet manages to balance those all at once.

It's insane how much more stressful 1-0 feels, to me, than 0-0. Like, once the concept of a goal is introduced into a game, it makes the possibility of another one seem so much more real.

I do not know a single Justin Bieber song. This isn’t a badge of honor or anything, I think I just didn’t listen to any new music when he was coming up and I am too old now to pay attention to anything that comes out that isn’t made by Olivia Rodrigo.

Said it before, but The Haunting (1999). It's basically the only movie I've seen in theaters that I think was actively bad. Incredibly high threshold for "bad"/low bar for "good' when it comes to movies, but that thing is terrible.
