We started losing these moments long ago I know. If I was a kid now, I can't fathom asking my low income immigrant parents to spend their wage on something that doesn't even give them with the sight of their kid grinning and holding that gift like treasure. That was their whole point for doing it
My parents were low income so I often just browsed game shops as a kid. Sometimes mum let me get a game. It'd cost her whole day's wage and a chunk of our rent. Dad once told me to check under the car seat and Pokemon Red was there in a bag. Ownership isn't the only thing we lose with physical media
