The story takes place in a version of the world where America went on an all-out war with a bunch of vengeful spirits back in the 20th century, and the consequences that followed after. It’s not post-apocalyptic, but it’s a more dangerous place.

It is now 9 years since Sonic Mania came out 😱... another trivia nugget: at one point we had a screen that showed you the animals that were inside the Heavies giving them their personalities! It didn't make the cut (maybe didn't comply with brand guidelines or there wasn't enough time IDK)
