Environment SDFs are based on angles, and are all automatically blurrable, so you can animate environment light in a way that would be too expensive to do with image based lighting.

I've been looking into a way to generate environments for lighting in p5 using strands shader code. That ended up turning into a little library called p5.env to help write some special SDFs that work for this purpose!
