#Queekisms I feel like I need to find something to make P’Kida a little more interesting.

“It might be. It really depends. We’re currently scheduled to pull out in a year and a half should nothing overly impede the reconstruction efforts.” So, naturally, the base will probably be here and in use for far longer than the optimistic two year prediction. “Are these fanatics truly unaware -
"Right on the money with that. Religious fanatics, believed that if they activated the Halo rings that it would make them ascend to godhood."
Starting Monday: I’ll be sticking to a strict rotation of my muses! Broken down into a set I’ll focus on per day! I’ll add something to my pinned here that I’ll update every day so people can easily see what I’m focusing on! Here’s the planned sets!
Today, I learned that not all questions necessarily need to be asked.
Boy! He’s so glad that the Khan’s aren’t on his people’s doorstep. That would suck!
Into the fold? Hm. They did not happen to be cyborgs by any chance?
In short: We are here to bring your primitive species into the fold, to purify you and perfect you from within.
“We do. Although many species serve amongst them. That is why my unit has been deployed here. The people who own this world are our allies but they do not have the resources to rebuild this world and protect its people.” He wanted to point out that it was his people’s fault from dragging -
"You're telling me. What, you got your own space pirates to worry about too?" Her hip jutted forward as her hands moved to rest as her hips. "The ones I'm used to are more avian looking. Or reptilian, depends on which part of Ex-Covenant controlled space you're in."
P’Kida’s translator couldn’t put in words what the sound of his squawk meant. The profanity filter simply refused to even consider the curse he spat out. “As if the galaxy needs more pirates.” He reached his arm behind himself. A faint thudding sound echoing aloud as his rifle attached itself -
"Kig Yar, nicknamed Jackals. Most of them engage in piracy, or are employed as mercenaries." Now that the tension seemed to be cleared, she would flick her safety switch back on, twirling her sidearm around her finger before holstering it onto her thigh. "They work for whoever pays the most."
The Paethellan kept his word and lowered his rifle towards the ground. The stress and anxiety over the whole debacle quickly fading from him. “Kig Yar?” His head titled, confused. “I am unfamiliar with them.”
As he reached the end of the count, the Spartan lowered her weapon, the barrel pointed down towards the floor. If he took the opportunity, she wouldn't need a weapon to dispatch him. That much she did know. "Sure don't look like a Kig Yar, so I'm inclined to believe you."
“Mine.” Somehow the little petty idea of controlling the count made him feel a little more sure with this whole thing. “You have my word. No tricks.” P’Kida tensed. Instincts screaming. “One. Two. Three…”
"On my count or yours?" While she pulled her finger back and away from the trigger, she still kept her weapon raised and at the ready. "Can I have your word that you won't try to shoot me the moment I lower my weapon?"
Was he willing to trust the word of a complete stranger? His eye tensed. Skimming over her armour carefully. Now that he thought about things, P’Kida couldn’t make out any raider symbols on the human’s admittedly very professional looking armour. “How about…” He’s praying this won’t be -
"My presence is not threatening anyone here. I don't have intentions on hurting anyone, but if I have to in order to defend myself, I will." The golden visor locked onto the other, keeping her sidearm steady. "What a shame it would be to have to kill you."
Fortunately, it isn’t. Some sub-cultures back on Paethol might’ve taken such a deep bow as a sign for a fight. However, P’Kida wasn’t from one of those regions. “Greetings, Lepanto.” Should he do a big and kind of ridiculously over the top introduction? Was that all how humanoids did things?
"Lepanto Midway Salamis-Trafalgar, EXPLORER OF THE INFINITE MULTIVERSE!" He takes a theatrical bow, hoping that isn't somehow a deep offense in P'Kida's culture. "Field agent of the multiversal research institute Akashic Labs, cookie-aided diplomat, part-time mech pilot, and Fanatic Egalitarian."
“It is my duty to protect the people here while we rebuild their homes. Homes shattered by the likes of you.” His talon is fully braced against the trigger of his own weapon. “Do not make me kill you.”
"Do you often threaten those who are passing through? Makes one feel a need to defend themselves, and that's what I'll be doing." She made no moves to step back or lower her weapon, her finger just a hair away from finding the trigger. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Your pick."
“Back away, and I will.” He’s standing firm. Doggedly keeping his rifle aimed at the intruder he’s mistaken taken for a lone raider or brigand. “Have you not hurt these people enough?”
In response, Zsóka raised her M6G towards the avian, flocking off the safety with her finger resting just beside the trigger. "Wanna keep your head? Lower the gun."
