I have strongly mixed feelings about this Healy Rae doc. On the one hand, I can't tolerate the f***ers and want nothing to do with them. On the other, it might, ultimately, be interesting. I know Kerry well and the whole Kilgarvan 'vibe', but you can always learn something.

My half-sister, who I have never met because she refuses to accept that I exist, was an Irish Supreme Court judge. I only mention it now because I turned on the telly to see the San Francisco Rose. My sister was once the San Francisco Rose.

Nationwide on RTÉ is talking about John McGahern. Only last week I was talking to one of his past pupils from Belgrove in Clontarf. He said McGahern was a vicious bastard for beating the boys. Of course, we know his own terrible childhood. Still
