A glimpse into the making of The Moon... Here's a behind-the-scenes shot from the studio of our Creative Director, Xaviera Lopez. An early sketch, a wall of notes, and the beginnings of one of the original artworks you'll discover inside our upcoming issue. We can't wait to share more soon.

A minimalist white desk with an iPad displaying a line drawing of two wolves wrestling in a digital illustration app. An Apple Pencil rests nearby, while a mug holds paintbrushes and a few pencils lie on the desk. Above the workspace, a neat grid of handwritten notes is taped to the wall, suggesting storyboarding or creative planning.

Contributor Spotlight! Camaray Davalos (Payómkawichum) is a writer/filmmaker/collagist whose work explores Indigenous environmental & social issues, as well as the complexities of gender roles and identity. Camaray explores those themes with her essay and "The Male Moon" in our upcoming issue.

The Moon card shows a crayfish making its way to shore, highlighting the truth we know about ourselves in the deepest oceans of our subconscious. So the question is: are we going to run with the wolves, free & howling... or allow the false promise of comfort to pull us back? Image: Camena Tarot

The Moon card from Camena Tarot. Illustrated tarot card of The Moon (XVIII): a pale, three-faced feminine figure stands between a wolf and a dog, each howling upward. She holds two mirrors reflecting different profiles of her face, suggesting duality and self-reflection. A glowing triple moon symbol hovers above her head. At her feet, a red crayfish emerges from rippling water. The background is dark and atmospheric, with a path leading into the distance, evoking mystery, intuition, and the subconscious.
