My statement re: today’s Doña Ana County commission meeting. I am calling on the Doña Ana County Commission to drop any and all charges against those currently being booked, and restore meaningful public comment to every meeting related to Project Jupiter from here on out.

Today we announced that we will be introducing a moratorium on data centers during the next legislative session. Folks have asked, “why now?” Here’s a bit of a civics lesson on the why, and another reminder of why organizing works. youtube.com/watch?v=0PVK...

🚨 Call to Action🚨 City of Las Cruces is considering allowing border patrol to build new facility near an elementary school here in LC. Please follow this call to action from Councilor Johana Bencomo. If we can’t stop it from being built, we’re urging that it be built somewhere more remote.
I’ve had a hard time reconciling Sen. Heinrich’s vote for Mullins for DHS sec. Honestly, I’m 💔 . So I went back to something I wrote for Public Lands Rally during NMLeg, which unfortunately he left too soon to hear. This message is also to Public Lands mvt. Please do better.

Senator Heinrich, You Should Have Stayed
During this past legislative session, I was honored to speak at the Public Lands Rally, shortly after some powerful words were made by Senator Martin Heinrich.

Their demands are clear: an immediate ban on ICE/CBP from all future recruitment fairs, formal policy requiring judicial warrant for any fed immigration enforcement on campus, & public reaffirmation of NMSU as a sanctuary for all workers/students. @nmsu-sports.bsky.social do the right thing.
Proud to stand w/NMSU students today who are demanding that my alma mater, live up to its promise as an HSI/Land Grant uni. These students are our legacy: first generation, children of immigrants, Black and Brown students, who chose New Mexico State, because they believed it would protect them.

7,155 New Mexicans demanded to be heard and NMED is now recommending a public hearing on the Project Jupiter air quality permits!! This is what organizing looks like, y’all 💪🏽 But we’re not done. A hearing recommendation is not a hearing, and a hearing is not a denial of permits.

I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work. I don’t let bullies win. Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.
Something important to understand about ICE thugs in the Twin Cities is that they're harassing innocent kids and parents at bus stops and schools every single day. Even after the Pretti shooting. It's terrorism.
