Probably about to be denaturalized Mexicana, community organizer, Las Cruces city councilor, progressive, unapologetic. ✌🏽💛

Hating immigrants is the easier story they spin because it keeps their base riled up. The real story is that they just want to make their rich friends richer, it just happens to be on the backs of black and brown people. Their base? Yea they’re still living paycheck to paycheck.

Since Monday, Trump has: -Halted civil rights investigations -Suspended public health advisories -Frozen infrastructure spending on roads and bridges -Rescinded an executive order prohibiting discrimination by federal contractors How does this help working people?

I know this isn’t enough to protect our immigrant community but my commitment from my role on the city council is to find all the ways in which we can continue to stand with our immigrant neighbors. Please share, the Spanish version is on my insta @johana4lc.

A revolution of values: "we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a "thing-oriented" society to a "person-oriented" society.

AOC: Trans girls are girls. And for all the folks that are so concerned, thank you for your concern for women for the first time. I don't know who has been to gym class, I’ve played co-ed sports all the time

Proud of Las Cruces to leading the way in addressing housing with Amador Crossing, 50 units of supportive housing at the Community of Hope. Grateful for state and local legislators for funding, visionaries like Camp Hope’s director and MPT @johana-b.bsky.social Next up in February: zoning reform!

The latest affordable housing development in New Mexico broke ground in Las Cruces Wednesday on the campus of Mesilla Valley Community of Hope, which will provide wraparound services to unhoused people a short walk away.

Border hawk recently drove through LC, through my district, highlighting mostly poverty and making outlandish claims about the unhoused community. But what else is to be expected by a “news source” created by a white nationalist?!

Rachel Monroe reports on the growing network of right-wing content creators—filmmakers, podcasters, streamers, and self-styled citizen journalists—who populate a media ecosystem that thrives on social media and has been crucial to Donald Trump’s rise.

This man and a small group of capitol police officers singlehandedly saved our democracy four years ago. In November, 77 million Americans said "to hell with them" and voted for the insurrectionists. Your "Back the Blue" flags are a pathetic disgrace and your patriotism is bullsh*t.

Hey! Welcome to the fight Rep-elect. Sandy’s situation is so upsetting and so unfortunately common. Couple of things re your call to the council to pass no cause evictions: The city has state preemption on a lot of housing legislation.

Rep. Sarah Silva@sarahsilva.bsky.social · 2y ago

Her options are to couch-surf or be put out on the street. I am calling on the city to consider an ordinance that would limit no-cause evictions. I will dedicate energy to supporting affordable housing in the upcoming legislative session in Santa Fe. /4

A few weeks ago @javierfornm.bsky.social gave an interview about NM being trump proof already. Then @govmlg.bsky.social gave another interview where that def didn’t feel true. Esp on immigration. How will we hold the line? And will the state leg work with muni govts to do so? Because we’re ready!

How does a new presidential administration look from the American West?
