Sanctions, Shipping, and Space Marines, oh my.
I think one of the things we need to be better at as a society is debunking the myth that Confederate generals were almost universally good. Let’s face it, there were a lot of shitty Confederate generals and, by late war, a lot of excellent Union ones.
These are people whose cause was literally to NOT be a part of the United States of America.
I’m wondering whether the rise of popularity for the UFC correlates to this MAGA male insecurity. These guys can’t feel masculine unless they are watching a cage fight with a bud light in hand.
The absolute bottom of the journalistic barrel is people in the media chiding Scott Pelley for having the gall to confront Bilton. If you want a job licking boots, become a bootlicker. You’re not a journalist.
Told my girl Nurgle it wasn’t her, I just needed to see someone else for a while.
Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court. Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business. As well as everyone else who stepped up.
Tell me you’ve never been on a train without telling you you’ve never been on a train.
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."
I’m gonna take this a step further by noting that a blocked account isn’t a debit account for the USG. A blocked account is a suspense account held by the party who blocks it, which cannot be dealt with. The closest we came to the framework Rubio proposes is Libya’s LIA, which isn’t this.
I don't even know where to start with the illegal...The Executive does not have the constitutional power to raise revenue. The Executive does not have the constitutional power to make decisions about expenditures. The Executive does not have the power to privatize the functions of the US Treasury...
Jesus. It’s like they were basically just reenacting the Gestapo officer’s MO from Inglorious Bastards.
Great thread, and a good reminder that everyone has a part to play in defending democracy.
I’m seeing lots of people on here misunderstand the purpose of ICE watch. It’s de-escalation. And it’s grounded in the social science of violence. 🧵
I mean, maybe on the bright side at least they were better than your local SWAT team serving a warrant because they didn’t arbitrarily shoot the dog?
House Intel Chair Rick Crawford on Trump executing a coup in Venezuela during a military operation that killed 80 people: "This was a DOJ operation in that this was essentially serving a warrant"
Nothing says tough guy like whining with your official government account that someone cancelled your bed and breakfast.
lmfao hell yeah

NEW: The runaway tanker BELLA 1 has officially rebranded as MARINERA in Russia’s shipping registry. By adopting the vessel under its national flag, Moscow has potentially created a major legal hurdle for U.S. forces currently in pursuit. nytimes.com/2025/12/31/u...
I’m probably dim for connecting the dots a day late, but tbf I raid about yesterday’s airstrikes after pounding two beers while my kids watched rhe SpongeBob movie. The point of conducting the strikes on Christmas was to deliberately position the admin as defenders of “Christianity.” 1/n
Some observations, beyond the obvious: a) I think one of this administrations downfalls is going to be the giddiness that they advertise their lawlessness - from snuff films to human rights abuses, and b) props to the 60mn team for featuring the work of students trained in OSINT.

I’m gonna fucking laugh, and then cry, then probably both, if they try to enact a “blockade” with TWEA.
What oil, what land, what assets did Venezuela steal from the US? And when? A social media post from an alternative reality.
Would love to be a fly on the wall when someone explains to the orange man that any seizures under the AEDP typically go to victims of terrorism.
Perhaps before Hegseth starts reminding retirees that they are subject to the UCMJ, he should also remember adultery is prohibited under the UCMJ. Just sayin…
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.
I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice. This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.
In October, 'Washington Post' editorials fail to disclose Bezos interests My story for NPR www.npr.org/2025/10/28/n...
'Washington Post' editorials omit a key disclosure: Bezos' financial ties
Three times in the past two weeks, editorials at the 'Washington Post' failed to disclose that they focused on matters in which owner Jeff Bezos had a material interest.

Yeah, but these are pretty half baked and just a big catchup to OFSI. How do you sanction Lukoil but not Litasco? And yes, it is pretty easy to prove Lukoil has a direct, indirect, or contingent interest in their marketing subsidiary, but this is pretty low effort. Reminds me of Sovcomflot.
I was never so happy to say that I was wrong: Trump actually did it. He imposed new sanctions on Russia. home.treasury.gov/news/press-r...
Having just spent half a day in an inflatable, I’m 100% sure the only crime you can commit in an inflatable is dying of heat stroke.
Well, you can finally cross “I’ve seen a handcuffed, inflatable penis” off your bucket list
