This is the heroine that the braindead sad-ass internet shitweasels want to see in the cineplex. Not Wonder Woman, not Supergirl, not Black Widow. All the trolls want to see is another fraudulent manifestation of men’s adolescent fantasies. Big breasts, bigger guns and high heels. Boring.

The problem with Supergirl isn’t because it’s “woke”. What keeps it earthbound is the formulaic storyline that every superhero movie is anchored to nowadays. Hollywood keeps putting a dozen chimpanzees behind keyboards cranking out the same old same old. Supergirl should have been a TV series.

I know why talking heads, op-ed columnists and podcasters haven’t a clue about what happened in New York when the Democratic Socialists swept the table. They’re rich. But for the rest of us, about 90% of our problems would go away if we made more money. We don’t overthink when the rent is due.

If people want to see how white America was before affirmative action, just take a trip down memory lane and watch old Hollywood movies. As Gil Scott-Heron said, “What you call nostalgia, ain’t what I’ve been missing.” Black people were either martyrs or props to be rescued by white saviors.

Trump’s Freedom 250 debacle was a mirror as to how bereft of any artistic sensibilities the people in the administration are. They’re hollow inside. I remember the time I went to a Georgia O’Keefe exhibition, and what I saw that afternoon brought me to tears; it was beautiful. I was awestruck.

Hard work is the tax you pay for creating Art, and no matter how many cheat codes and short cuts you try to manufacture, people will always know that the ‘content’ you produce is garbage. If you didn’t give a damn, why should we?
