Support small media. Let people vote and read. Give school kids lunch wtf this shouldn't be hard.
This is as clearly as I've seen this spelled out. If the PCSA smelled off to you but you didn't know quite why, this interview offers very lucid proof that you were correct. defector.com/an-antitrust...
What I *really* want an interviewer to do with these desperate sweaty CEOs is say, "Now that Trump has said he wants you to call it 'Trump Intelligence' instead of 'Super Intelligence', are you planning to update your marketing?" and then don't reveal that you made it up until after they say yes.
BAIER: The president says 'SI.' Are you into SI or AI? BEZOS: I do like SI, because 'artificial' is not a very flattering thing. Like, nobody wants an artificial sweetener, artificial flavoring.
the worst thing about reading "nickel and dimed" is realizing absolutely nothing has gotten better for service workers since that was written nearly 30 years ago as the ultrarich have just gotten exponentially wealthier
Not the only guy they have done this work for either. Saying again that imo the @nytimes.com 100% runs a Right Wing Fascist Glow Up Service on the side of their regular trump sane washing gig.
Congrats again to the New York Times on its long form journalism
Legitimately a great pleasure in life for me has been reading to my kids. It is magic.
this is so fucking sad
It is incredibly depressing that for all noise that politics produces we are essentially a One Issue Electorate.
So it seems likely that the German populace might have turned against Hitler if gas prices there had gotten too high in the 1930s.
In 3 years the word on the right will be that Trump was a Democrat op to destroy the gop.
Jfc really noticing today how many people who absolutely don’t know how to do anything absolutely love AI.
entire industry made by and for dudebros who want to live forever and hate being alive.
Can’t help but notice that one of the few journalistic writing assignments left that still pays is also the most intrinsically rotten one.
I’d suggest the genre of profile journalism has some shortcomings
The fact that for so many people the wealthier they are the more money they feel like they need should be studied. It appears to never be enough.
From @theathletic.com: LeBron James will make nearly four times as much promoting the Polymarket prediction market as he will from playing basketball. The deal may not break NBA rules, but it raises uncomfortable questions.
If nothing else politicians should love the places they represent the way this guy does.
I split the G (train) with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Michéal Martin. Sláinte!
To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars. Even if those cars are electric. And then there’s all the parking. OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money, emissions, pollution, noise etc. Choices. Simple.
I know people are dunking on this but I’m not ashamed to say that I find it very moving and won’t apologize for that.
This is insane.
It is an embarrassment that anyone takes the political reporting of @nytimes.com seriously.
100%!!! In 2016, the Times focused >> on Clinton's email scandal than on her policy. Over one six-day period, the Times “ran as many cover stories about Hillary Clinton’s emails [10] as they did about all policy issues combined in the 69 days leading up to the election” www.salon.com/2017/12/24/i...
Paris has been praised in recent years for their visionary, progressive city-building, but they don’t get enough credit for just being really pragmatic! Everything they’ve been doing is common sense. They’re moving a lot more people with less space while cleaning the air and cooling the city.
America feels like… [only the whale ship is sinking]
a dead sperm whale, moored by night to a whaleship at sea
I don’t use the MacOs Photos app but holy shit trying to help someone with their setup moving some photos to a different place is a revelation in utterly atrocious UX. Psychotically bad. It is crazy that people still think Apple is good at this.
People love to talk about the “male loneliness” problem but the “males insecure in their masculinity” is the crisis that is truly plaguing the country.
