When I was a junior officer in the Navy (2012-2017) I attended a lunch and seminar with a dozen admirals. Half of them were foaming at the mouth lunatics fully bought into a Dr. Strangelove-esque conception of war with China and the other half were checked out and ready for their job at Boeing.

I mean this sincerely: I think pro Israel people really need to begin internalizing that this is not a fringe opinion anymore and in fact is very statistically likely to be the average view of any brown Democratic candidate for office or any candidate under the age of 50

the el-sayed win shows yet again that centrists are now everything they always claim the left is when it comes to israel: ideologically rigid, in hock to extremists, mistaking online beefs (ie hasan) for mass politics—and toxic to the electorate.

It's pretty funny that NBC and a bunch of reliable election night journos have called it for El-Sayed but the NYT and WaPo are like "it's still a toss up" McMorrow already endorsed him and these discredited institutions would rather continue to nuke their credibility
