Crazy day for new Atletico Ottawa coach Gustavo Leal, who arrived in Canada hours before taking the touchline in a 1-1 draw. Told media he had been watching from afar, but it was "a really hard situation" in recent weeks, not being able to be with the team. #CanPL

Beautiful letter from Ismaël Koné in The Players’ Tribune. “They were carrying me off — and it must have been magic. Because all the quiet in BC Place, suddenly it became warmth. And I swear it’s like for two full weeks that warmth has been carrying me.” www.theplayerstribune.com/ismael-kone-...

Qatar GK Abunada on a ridiculous run of saves. Reckless challenge led to the Embolo pen but he is tremendously tough to beat, keeping 🇶🇦 alive v 🇨🇭 🇶🇦 backline not offering much space for Swiss to go direct to goal. Very compact in the box. Could be trouble for #CanMNT

Not a great half from Inter Toronto. Backline is really suffering without Leon, Forge has too much space to go straight at the goal. Forge's fluidity also feels a lot cleaner. Attack isn't generating much either, Badibanga looks solid though. 2-0 Forge at HT. #CanPL

#CanMNT’s match against Ireland was there for the taking. But a lack of lethal finishes left Canada short. Jesse Marsch wasn’t going to be negative after, but he acknowledged that 🇨🇦 has to be cleaner in the final third. ✍️ for @cansoccerdaily.bsky.social canadiansoccerdaily.com/2026/06/06/j...

Loved that half from #CanMNT. Silky passing sequences, confident, sharp, everybody very assured in their role. Winning the ball back extremely efficiently. Eustaquio, Kone, AJ all brilliant Can't even fault the finishes. Buchanan, Millar, and David all knocking at the door.

Considering Marsch will probably play around a lot with the XI, not mad at just the one change. LDF was mad impressive on Monday so great to see him given another hour of leeway to prove his worth. #CanMNT

🇨🇦 Jesse Marsch opts for a single, lone change as the #CanMNT run down to their final pre-World Cup friendly tonight against Ireland. In many ways, this XI could very well be close to, if not how, Les Rouges line up on June 12.

🇨🇦🚨 JESSE MARSCH IS STAYING WITH #CANMNT Canada Soccer has extended his contract through the 2030 World Cup. Arguably one of the most transformative figures in the men’s program sticking around is needed assured stability. So happy for Marsch, he truly loves Canada!
