I remember the lesson with politicians and public figures is "Watch what they do, not what they say". I will be at best cautiously optimistic that he'll stop dogwhistling (and occasionally foghorning) to both score favor with the electorate and promote certain hatreds. Not especially hopeful.

I don't know if Ray Bradbury really expected the world as he knew it to have ended by August 4th, 2026 (although of course it was always a possibility), but I wonder if he would be impressed by the degree to which we have managed to not blast ourselves to hell and beyond.
