There was this Berenstain Bears cartoon where the kids had been bratty and hadn’t cleaned their rooms or summat and when she found out, the sound of Mama Bear STOMPING up the stairs was horrifying. A+ sound design there.

This is gonna sound like a shitpost but the next words here are completely genuine: reading Swan Boy as it comes out feels like it must’ve felt watching Golden Age Simpsons during its original airing.

There was a quite sharp zeitgeist differential between people who would say "My Hero Academia" and people who would INSIST on "Boku no Hero Academia" that I understood why separate anime con panels were needed for each.
Since it’s the Discourse™️ right now, the whole “tell other men they shouldn’t be making jokes like that” thing presupposes that you’re the kind of guy who is in a position where he can say something. I’ve tried it a couple times and hoo boy, you get shown the door with a quickness.
I would be fine with this series just becoming Noel going on larger and larger dates and just going down the list of people he knows. “What’s Sextape doing? Is he free this Friday?”

I feel King of The Hill needs to do an episode where Peggy goes all-in on Therapy TikTok and starts becoming an insufferable person in the name of “setting boundaries”.
My take on the iced coffee discourse is that people really don’t like when a rule exists for a stupid reason. So you end up basically having to say “yes, it’s a stupid arbitrary rule, do it anyway”. It’s framed as an Anti-Gen-Z thing because they’re the up-and-comers right now.
Nothing has made me feel older than running across a retail manager named Aeris. Took all my energy to not ask her “your…your parents finished the game, right?”

Look, this isn’t going to be a popular opinion, but I think Bob’s Burgers shouldn’t be coming back for its 16th season. That it even made it to 5 feels wrong. It feels like a show that was destined to get cancelled halfway through a second season that the ratings just barely justified.
I want a spin-off where Branson just makes up fake album titles. Also, I feel like I can hear all of these in my head.

the super bowl should work like mlb hall of fame voting does, where every few years they decide that no one will play in it. they'll still have the broadcast and everything, but the broadcast booth will fill three hours with "well you know, the super bowl is really hard to get to"
