Probably not exactly what you mean #lesficfri but been writing a RWBY fanfic where Weiss is a faunus and hasn't realized it her entire life and this is the point Blake realizes Weiss doesn't know. Is leading to a polycule, but doing slow burn... lots of handholding through trauma at moment.

It was late by the time they got back to the dorms. Yang entered the room ahead of them, stretching out and yawning.

“You know, something I haven’t figured out?” Yang said.

“What’s that?” Ruby asked.

The blonde turned to look at Weiss. “What was Blake talking about when she told you that ‘not everybody can just pass’?”

Blake’s eyes widened as she turned toward the white-haired girl. “Oh, damn. Weiss. I’m…”

Weiss shrugged. “I don’t know. I was too focused on … everything else to figure that out.”

The cat faunus blinked and stared at Weiss. “You don’t know what I meant?”

“No. Why would I?” Weiss shrugged and glowered through the combination of fatigue and stress.

“You… you don’t know.” Blake repeated.

“That’s what I said.” Weiss agreed. “What am I supposed to know?”

Blake’s eyes widened slowly as the situation clarified in front of her. She shakily pointed at Weiss. “You don’t know.”

“Yeah, I think we’ve established that. Are you okay, Blake?” Yang moved forward to look the cat faunus in the face.

“Is something wrong?” Ruby asked.

Blake nodded fervently. “Yes. A lot. Uh, Weiss, just… uh sit here. Don’t go to sleep yet. I’ve got to go find Velvet.”

The cat faunus darted back to the door.

“Hey! We just found you!” Weiss shouted.

The man in this photograph as Fred Long Claws Jr. (Dakota Ojibway) from Waywayseecappo First Nation in Manitoba. According to one community member, Fred stood over seven feet tall. The photograph has been attributed to Alexander J. Ross (1851-1894) a photographer known for his work documenting First Nations people in Winnipeg before establishing his own studio in Calgary in 1884. This photograph was given to Seesequasis from a private collection, but at least 125 of Ross's photos are stored in archives like the Glenbow Archives at the University of Calgary. This photo and the collection has since been returned to the Waywayseecappo First Nation. The exact date is unknown, but it would likely be from the early 1880s. | Paul Seesequasis is a writer, curator, researcher, photographer.

The thing that's routinely missed about AOC is that she's so normal. In her video hits she's either talking policy like a reasonably intelligent non-politician (and non-media person!) or telling silly anecdotes like this. MTG et alia seem to insert a few deliberate outrages into every goddamn thing.

AOC on a movie that made her cry PabloReports: When’s the last time a piece of art—film, music, whatever—made you cry? AOC: Okay, let me go with the worst time one made me cry. I was on an airplane watching… what is that movie? The one about aliens with a linguist? Arrival. With Amy Adams.
