I felt this in my soul. Not only is Grant right in that reporting on accessibility in the gaming industry is vanishing, even disabled voices like myself are as well. The amount of misinformation and lack of education on what gaming accessibility is was ever apparent even as recent as this past week

For seven years, I've had the privilege of reporting on accessibility and the disabled perspective. And now, during my seventh Disability Pride Month in this industry, I'm left wondering if this beat is coming to an end. This is what happens when you leave disabled voices out of the room. It's rarely ever out of malice or purpose that we are kept out of the room; it's that we aren't thought of at all, and that's worse. And then, by some chance, we are thought of; decisions get made without ever inviting us back in.

As Grant mentions, during the pandemic, accessibility was a core growing part of the industry. But over time, it started to decline. I went from earning six figures for the first time in 2022 to making barely above the poverty line in 2025 We are burning out, and the industry barely cares.

Very cool stuff seen at Minecraft Live today. Shelf Mushrooms, Wool Stairs and Slabs, Abandoned Camp structure, as well as new Poplar Trees and Wood set. Seems a very cool Fall themed update.
