One of my favorites on the platform! It's easy to use emulators for turn based games, but reliving action platformers on a touchscreen (smartphone, tablet) *will* make you homicidal. Real buttons are the best

One of the reasons I have remained an IC instead of managing a team is stuff like this. Recently discussed proj follow-up w/ an internal "client" & it consisted of reading copilot bullet points to us The instant it ended I msg'd my manager: if they do that again I'm leaving the meeting immediately

What happened? They didn't understand some of my suggestions - did they email me to get clarifications? No - they asked Claude to "fill in the blanks".
That Oasis became popular is baffling to me. The quality of the music itself is middling, and Liam's singing is overrated (and his singing style was unsustainably harsh on his throat). The Gallagher brothers are toolsheds, to boot, so I can dislike them while maintaining inner peace.

Before we built our current house, the last place we lived had an "addition" so the owner could take care of his aging mother. It was so poorly done -- and designed to last as long as she did -- it was primarily insulted by... wasp nests. Just an unbelievable amount of work my FIL and I had to fix

We used to have to do "sticker checks" (because he'd lay on the playroom floor and get stickers stuck in his belly fur), but now he'll just lay like this and meow in protest unless *both of my hands* are actively petting him

I love dbplyr for this reason I find "thinking in SQL" to be....unpleasant. I don't typically need highly optimized queries, so the translations generated are a massive efficiency gain. It's especially true for ad hoc exploration I think it's the best idea to come out of the tidyverse! #rstats

There's no law of the universe that requires the AAA studio model to exist. Eg, Kyle Thompson - Sheepo, Islets, Crypt Custodian, Well Dweller (pending) - better games costing $10-20 Don't buy games you think are overpriced. There are thousands to choose from. Some are even free / ad-supported.

I'm looking to develop some (internal lab group) guidelines for lab notebooks for epi/biostats/stats projects. Does anyone have good resources on this? There is lots of wet-lab stuff, but I have seen less for epi research (but I think that record keeping is important to do)

(Some revisits are short, others are proofy, etc) @matloff.bsky.social's new LA book is good and I'll post a review eventually, for example.

The entire bag gets that vague tropical taste even when you're eating something *not* tropical. Drier than the Raspberry ones first reviewed, but maybe that's batch variability. Not a dealbreaker. 7/10
