I finally accepted a one-month free trial of Prime (hoping that it isn't like a free trial of gum stuck to the bottom of my sneakers.) I'm using it to watch Good Omens 2. So far, the very best part is "Jane Austen? Really? She wrote novels, too? You think you know someone..."

A much-redacted tale: At a hotel near Comic-Con, a hotel guest had so-called vodka in awesome screw-top glass vials. It was green and bubbly! She offered it to someone I was with. Him: I've seen too many cop shows to drink that. Me: Hell, that looks like it would create somebody's arch enemy.

It's my birthday, so please come read SIDEQUESTED, our weird comic about weird people with weird rules of magic. The main character is a very slightly intense librarian who fell in love with the princess she rescued from a tower. sidequested.com

Now-Charlie, with Peony beside her, looks up at a memory of her winning a staring contest. In the flashback, her eyes are HUGE but also FOCUSED and the man across the table from her is crying. In the background, a Weaver collects her magic in the form of a golden thread.

Wherever I live and pay a water bill, the bill includes the amount due AND a larger amount due AFTER the due date. The bills always put the larger amount last, and I wonder how many people glance carelessly at the "bottom" number and pay it without thinking. I've never seen this on any other bill.

My return home is being thwarted. We pushed back from the gate, had a problem, and we're about to be towed back to the gate so the flight mechanic can come on board and whack the appropriate subsystem with the appropriate monkey wrench.

Comic-Con ProTip: There isn't much seating in the lobby area, and you can't sit on the lobby floor in most places because of fire safety regs. Comfy shoes are a must.

Comic-Con Pro Tip: The Convention Center concessions are cashless. You'll need a credit or debit card. Parents please take note: $20 bucks won't buy your child lunch anymore. Try $40.

Comic-Con Pro Tip: The convention center is HUGE. Because of that, ordinary human directions like "it's downstairs" are practically meaningless. Always try to get a specific room number (including the letter suffix like 6A), a booth number, an autograph table number, or lobby letter (A-H).

Comic-Con Pro Tip: Take good notes and come prepared. If you ask for directions to "my friend's panel" and you don't know the panel name or room number, that low-quality jpeg on your phone with unreadable text isn't going to help anyone point you in the right direction.

One day of Comic-Con left to go. Learned some more history. Got to meet the First Guest Ever from the original 1970 con. Did a little shopping. Saw some very cool sculpture work and cosplay. Busy busy day tomorrow.
