Was learning about curtain folds & their shadows & highlights. Also learning about lattice pie work & shadows & highlights there. I could do a lot more to adjust the values & make my pie more realistic, but for a first effort, I’m happy with it. (I’m not about perfection, so good enough is fine)

This painting was based on a tutorial by @keepitcolourful which is the artist Jesse Robertson providing the instruction and guidance. This was my second painting of the week (rare for me!) and so I am doing the final details of it somewhat hastily, and it was nice to be able to accomplish more than one painting. I stretched myself with regards to time because having another technique to think about and practice is valuable to me in my hobby activities. Pretty sure I will be looking at our fruit bowl and curtain folds a bit more this upcoming month as the lighting changes due to the shorter daylight hours of autumn. And um, hehe, how you like them apples? 😝

Thank you, BlueSky buddy, for the recipe. We made this today and we love the flavor! These are now cooking and we are hearing the pop inward of the seals while we contemplate how fancy or basic to make our labels. We have to tackle our red tomatoes next.
