For some reason hapless Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, Alex Davies Jones thinks that the potential for victims to come to harm as a result of the Labour government's early release scheme is a laughing matter. Put appropriate funding/safeguards in place!

The Mail: "Lock them up , flog them, ban them, hang them." The Mail when someone breaks a law they don't like : "TYRANNY!" For context La Plante got caught 5 times in six months breaking the 20 mph limit to add to the 9 points already on her licence.

Went for a lovely walk down the Severn near home yesterday & saw this rather worrying sight - no one anywhere near it. I'm sure someone could would have had a field day with it. "Farage claims there is a Severn Valley small boat crisis."

If Sycophantini is so keen on preventing the spread of hate why does he constantly suck up to some of the most murderous, hate spreading, despotic rulers on the planet?! Like his buddy Trump he's just another self serving narcissist.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino tells critics to "meditate, pray or watch a football match" instead of "spreading hate and false rumours" about him and the World Cup.

Farage in The Telegraph: ‘If voters think I’m a crook, they can get rid of me.’ It’s not how the law works but, even so, I’m assuming if Farage is serious he’ll allow the voters of Clacton to look at all his finances, speak to all his donors, and put himself up for rigorous questioning?

Front page headline in Telegraph : Farage quoted as saying ‘If voters think I’m a crook they can get rid of me.

How about politicians, Nigel? Do you think that MPs and party leaders who consort with and promote rapists and paedophiles should also be jailed ... meme via The Raging Left

I've always said i would welcome Labour when they do the right thing, and today's business relief for venues and pubs is a welcome respite for an industry at the heart of our communities.

Vacuous performance by Miatta Fahnbulleh on @channel4news.bsky.social just now. Started answers with "Now listen..." 4 times "Now look..." twice then for good measure threw in a "laser focussed" to really underline the vapid modern politician vibe...& she's one of Labour's rising stars?! Really?!

Absolutely it can't. The Hundred only exists because no one at the ECB was smart enough to ™️ T20 so when the IPL & other T20 competitions became huge, knowing it couldn't compete, the ECB came up with the wretched shambles of a format that is The Hundred & the excruciating hype surrounding it.

Edgbaston under the floodlights on T20 Blast finals day under a headline "The Hundred cannot replicate the love and affection of the T20 Blast" from the Cricketer magazine.

IMO Mahmood remaining in the cabinet is an indication of the price Burnham will pay for the Faustian pact he has entered into with Josh Simons. I suspect that Simons could turn out to be to Burnham what Dominic Cummings was to Boris Johnson; his nemesis.

Very sad to learn of Kevin Keegan's death. I remember seeing him play for Scunthorpe against Albion in a 3rd round FA tie at the Hawthorns in 1971. In a largely forgettable 0-0 draw he stood out even then; a Scunny fan had told me & my dad he was destined for great things & so it proved. RIP Kev.
