To truly remember & honor those who have lost their lives to the violence of war, we must actively work for peace. Peacemaking is not passive, but it is love in action. For violence is never overcome by violence (this merely begets more violence). Violence is overcome by love.

Today is Pentecost—the day which commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first disciples of Jesus. It recalls the founding of the Christian Church. It’s a reminder of the fire that still burns inside of us, enabling us be the loving people Jesus has called us to be!

For the followers of Jesus, we are a part of a community of priests. We all serve our neighbours as pastors, preachers, evangelists, deacons, elders, etc as a part of Christ’s body. Such roles are not decided by men, but have already been decided by Holy Spirit.
