Major pet conference peeve - speakers not speaking to time. It shortens breaks, reduces chances to engage ECRs and sets a bad precedent. Typically the bigger the name, the worse the timing.

My final (☹️) paper with Ivo Telley now out - doi.org/10.7554/eLif... I felt the elife system worked well - first time publishing there since the changed model. Good to have different approaches- nothing is perfect.

Really happy to see this out: journals.biologists.com/dev/article/... We use FCS to reveal that Bicoid dynamics vary spatially across the Drosophila embryo. We demonstrate this can explain previous observations about gradient extent and time scale of formation.
Just back from trip to Singapore. Realise I miss the place - a lot of fond memories. It was great catching up with people at NUS, NTU and A*Star
Day started with OneDrive deciding to delete >10,000files. It kept all the folders, just deleted the content 😭 Thankfully able to restore, but now have duplicates of all my folders - one empty and one with the actual contents.
Finally decided to move off the other site. Hope the science community finds a good home soon (hopefully here as put the effort to join and I'm too lazy to change again soon)
