Musician and game modder by night, engineer by day, culture lover around the clock. 🏳️‍🌈 Mostly talking about music on this account. (Views are my own.)

The first KH4 trailer music (Reality in the Dark) was arranged by Natsumi Kameoka. The KHML trailer (DB) was arranged by Tomomichi Takeoka. Speculated that the new KH4 trailer music is by Shotaro Shima. Interesting new direction! It's also the first time KH has ever had unique music for trailers

Coming soon, after years of work! (And tons of fun time learning and experimenting with how to make music and to arrange for orchestra ☺️) I'll promise you that you'll never hear the music of San Fransokyo the same way…

Expanding the gameplay *and* the #gamemusic ?😉 🎵 Our #gamemod continues to add new music to KH3 to expand its score, with many new arrangements for fights and cutscenes (!), following the story. Here's a (short!) reel of some arrangements, by our musician and dev @timoram.bsky.social:

A thing I've tried when classifying the music of "Kingdom Hearts III": which worlds re-use the most tracks from previous games without changing them? And here goes the result, as a graph (not to scale, though)! (Note that this graph also accounts for cutscenes and non-playable worlds)

Graph with logos of KH3 worlds (including non-playable ones), representing how early or late each world appear in the story vs. how much tracks from earlier KH games each world re-uses without changing them.

A peculiar thing with game music in "Kingdom Hearts III": most of its gameplay tracks (and most tracks of its "Re Mind" DLC) are mixed in quadraphonic (4.0) instead of stereo. Here's an example with a DLC track, wherein the back channels have reverb for only some of the front channels' instruments:

I've been working for a long while on a video essay comparing the music directions of "Kingdom Hearts III" and "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth", on the side of doing music arrangements. There's lots to discuss about these two games (the video will be one hour long 😅), hopefully out this boreal spring!
