The delicate unfurling of the dragonfly's wings is really incredible. The dragonfly pumps into the shrunken crumpled wings, which helps them to unfurl. After the wings have fully expanded the hemolymph recedes, leaving behind dry, strong structures. The fully formed wings are like stained glass art
