Bad angle but look how cute Pinto is! She likes to nap al over me, often sweetly curled into a ball 🥺 Like any young rat she also has her moments of activity, bouncing around and play-fighting the other girls - but after she gets her beans out she becomes soooo snuggly!

Don't think I ever really posted any pictures of Fluke since she was always a little blur or shoving her nose into the camera. But here's the last picture I got of her. Grumpy little burrito hated her meds. I have a D&D character based on her, so she'll live on in a way.

Well this isn't at all how I expected the day to go. My little Fluke is gone. She was old, and had issues that were being treated. But she was doing ok. When I checked on her this morning she had a mystery head wound and made it clear she was ready to go.

We've been taking Eugene out to local markets and I've been so pleasantly surprised that no one has reacted negatively to a rat being around. There are now several people who recognize him and always say hello to him. Eugene has been loving sniffing everything and exploring too.

I wanted to do an L shaped cage for all of the girls, but decided to keep the older girls in a separate cage for now. Easier to keep track of some small health issues popping up with them. The babies love having more space. Still need to finish adding toys and hammocks.

A double Critter Nation cage full of ropes, baskets, seagrass bridges, dig boxes, and baby rats.

I've been baby rat crazy for awhile but the older ratties are still getting plenty of attention and are all doing very well considering they're nearly 2 years old. Here's Clover hiding in her giant nest (she builds one whenever it gets slightly chilly).
