Likes: ROBOCOP, The Who, capybaras, ROBOCOP, libraries, GrimJack, ROBOCOP. Dislikes: horses, oceans (beaches are fine, oceans are bullshit)

CURRENT READING Robert Jackson Bennett, THE TAINTED CUP. Book 1 in a series of fantasy murder mysteries, with the two leads getting favorable comparisons to Holmes & Watson. The fantasy aspect is almost overwhelmingly unusual to me (except the part that's totally ATTACK ON TITAN). Good so far

CURRENT READING @gunnerkrigg.bsky.social GUNNERKRIGG COURT VOL. 2. I really like this. Ghosts and robots and trickster gods mix together in this sometimes whimsical, sometimes dark fantasy/sci-fi webcomic with a deep cast and rich back story. Plus it's funny!

From KUNNERKRIGG COURT by Tom Siddell. Fairy students question their fairy classmate Red, who has spiky hair and is joyfully rude. "Hey Red! How do you keep your hair sticking up?" "Wanna know my secret, huh? Easy! I never wash it, ya jerks!"

CURRENT READING GUNNERKRIGG COURT VOL. 1 by @gunnerkrigg.bsky.social I don't know how much of a commitment I'm making getting into what seems to be a pretty lore-heavy webcomic that began in 2005 and is still going, but 150 pages in and I like it. The below reference made me laugh, so good start!

One facet of tape cassettes that no other format of music (that I know of) has ever replicated: the silence, often long minutes of silence, when side A or B was longer than the other. You could stop or eject or ff, or you could just sit and listen, as the spools turned and the blank tape ran out

Two weeks ago I had never heard of Sophie Cunningham and two weeks from now I hope she will have vanished to wherever Hawk Tuah Girl went. In the meantime she is an increasingly pathetic disgrace to the Cunningham name

From the opening credits to HAPPY DAYS: "And starring Tom Bosley as Howard Cunningham"

RECENT READING THE NEFARIOUS NIGHTS OF WILLOWWEEP MANOR, w. @shaenon.bsky.social a. Christopher Baldwin. A very fun follow-up to the very fun DIRE DAYS. Our heroes' Gothic Novel pocket universe is invaded by refugees from a Murder Mystery universe. Everyone's a suspect... EVEN THE CHICKEN

RECENT READING DIRE DAYS OF WILLOWWEEP MANOR, w. @shaenon.bsky.social a. Christopher Baldwin. I enjoyed this tale of gothic novels & pocket dimensions a great deal. Wonderfully charming & funny characters w/ excellent art, from the precision of the manor's layout to the silliest of facial reactions

I saw SUPERGIRL, and don't have much to add to what's already been said. I like Milly Alcock, David Corenswet and Eve Ridley. David Krumholtz is a pleasant surprise. Krem is a big nothing. Momoa is wasted. But overall, it's a pretty good movie, right up to the exact moment it turns to complete shit
