I was today years old when I discovered that saffron comes from a domesticated variety of crocus. Actually, it takes a huge number of crocus flowers to harvest (by hand) saffron in any quantity, which is why it is so expensive.

Dystopian technology vision of the day: The world lies in darkness, the power grid failed, drained because everyone instructed a chatbot to create their own AI action figure/avatar....which they can no longer even access. Might make a good Black Mirror ep....

My review of the #Unistellar Odyssey Pro smart telescope: www.pcmag.com/reviews/unis... It's good at imaging faint objects, colors were bright but sometimes off, and downloading FITS files was problematic. The digital eyepiece nearly doubles the price over the base model.
